03.03.2016 Jaime Vallaure and Rafael Lamata –Los Torreznos– are representatives of performance art and its connection with conceptual currents on the work of language and the day-to-day. As artists they represented Spain at the 2007 Venice Biennale, and also in countless international institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Fundação Serralves in Oporto, and CA2M, La Casa Encendida or the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid.
Each piece has been carefully selected to highlight the relationship between the critical discourse of the work and the context in which it is to be interpreted. It thus brings out the central characteristic of their production that is geared towards search and expressive experimentation by way of simple forms such as gesture, language and presence. Such forms are basically accessible to anybody. They employ humour and deal with aspects of daily life, in order to become a tool of analysis from which to criticise the social structure.
